Privacy Policy - TV Remote

Summary
TV Remote turns your phone into a remote for Sony, Samsung, LG, and Roku TVs on your local Wi-Fi network. We built it to be private by design:
- No account. You never sign in or give us an email, name, or phone number.
- No ads and no Advertising ID.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No developer servers. We do not operate a backend, so your data is never sent to us. The app talks only to your own TV on your local network.
Information the app stores on your device
To work as a remote and to remember your setup, the app saves the following locally on your phone. None of it is transmitted to the developer.
- Paired TV details - your TV's name, local network address (IP/host), and brand, so the app can reconnect on launch.
- Pairing credentials - the code/token your TV issues during pairing. This is stored encrypted on your device (Android EncryptedSharedPreferences) and is sent only to your TV, to authenticate remote commands.
- App preferences - settings such as haptics, accent colors, button layout (slots), and Apps-tab sort mode.
- Cached TV app list and launch stats - per TV, used to render the Apps tab quickly and to power the Recent / Most-used sort modes.
- Keyboard typing history - text you've previously sent to the TV's on-screen keyboard, kept locally so you can resend it. It is not uploaded anywhere.
- A random app identifier - a randomly generated client ID created on first launch. It identifies the app to your TV during pairing and never leaves your network. It is not an Advertising ID and is not linked to your identity.
You can remove this data at any time by using Forget TV in the app or by uninstalling the app, which deletes all locally stored data.
Network communication
The app communicates only with your TV over your local Wi-Fi network (LAN). It discovers TVs on the network and sends remote-control commands directly to the TV. It does not send your data to the developer or to any third-party server.
Permissions

The app does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone recordings, photos, or files. (Voice search uses your device's built-in speech-to-text; the recognized text is sent to your TV's search box, not to us.)
Purchases (TV Remote Pro)
TV Remote offers an optional one-time in-app purchase ("Pro") that unlocks extra features. Payments are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment-card details. The app only learns whether the Pro entitlement is owned, in order to unlock features. Google's handling of payment data is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Third parties
- Google Play - distributes the app and processes purchases. See Google's policy linked above.
No other third parties receive data from this app. There are no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or attribution SDKs included.
Children's privacy
TV Remote is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Data deletion
Because all data is stored locally and nothing is sent to a server, you fully control your data:
- Use Forget TV in the app to remove a paired TV's saved details and credentials.
- Uninstall the app to erase all of its locally stored data from your device.
Purchase records are held by Google Play; manage or request a refund through your Google Play account.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version at the same URL. Material changes will be reflected before they take effect.
